Midterm Project

This project explored the use of cells to create a connection between protection and the individual pieces of the skeleton, skin, and landscape. Each piece played a role in the develop and overall goal of the project. Started out with basic flat shapes that grew to create interior and exteriors spaces. I liked the idea of the skin morphing together to create one solid mass that later on turns into three. The exterior and interior established a sense of protection, yet in the inside people are able to move freely. The transparency of the skins gives protection, which also allowed you to be able to see through it. The idea of public and private isn't an issue because everything can be seen. The colors chosen are calming, which allowed for relaxation and a vacation environment. The reflective quality of the materials showed how the pieces could interact with the environment around like the sun and surrounding structures. The reflection also made it flashy and stood out to people., which caused them to think.
